Ian Flemings ...Moore?
on a recent plane ride, i came across a triva section in a maganize that stated the fact that Roger Moore has played the character James Bond more than any other actor. i believe it was a record of 7 times.
my father has always been a big James Bond fan and Roger Moore was his favorite James Bond, basically because he was the Bond that my father knew when he got really into James Bond. thing that always got me was the first Bond movie Roger Moore was in, "Live and Let Die".
by far, "Live and Let Die" was never one of my favorite Bond flicks, but i always did love that theme song. never the less, i always thought it silly and i guess a little creepy how in the picture Jane Seymour's character, Solitare was douped into having sex with James Bond.
here we have a character who is physic, a fortune teller who uses tarot cards to perdict the future. it is stated that her ability comes form the fact she is a virgin. along comes James Bond, who convinces this young woman to have sexual intercourse with him by metohd of stacking her tarot card deck with mutipule "lovers" cards. this way, when reading the future that would be between them, she would draw the "lovers" card and think that they are destined to get it on. and it works. James Bond loves her and leaves her without her ability. funny? yes. creepy? indeed.
but don't get me wrong, other Moore as Bond pictures were better. from "Moonraker" with it's subplot of the classic Bond villain Jaws finding true love to the daringly named, "Octopussy". and let's not forget one of my top favorite Bond films, "A Veiw to Kill". how can not like a film with Christopher Walken and Grace Jones as the main villains? i know i can't!
