Whatcha' looking at?
It seems to me that a common phrase in TV, Film and even Books is "Whatca' looking at?" or more simply "What are you looking at?"
It's always a bully or big jerk character or bad guy. Yet, they never seem to realize how this line of dialog completely opens them up to be made fun of. It's that old saying; ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. For the hero or character we tend to identify more with always has a great comeback like, "Just a pile of shit pretending to be man." or "Mr. Clean on steroids." or "I dunno- 99% muscle, 1% brain?" and so on.
And the great thing is that these squabbles are always started by just someone starring at someone else. What a incident to start a riot!
I guess, I's just saying be careful out there, people. I'm always starring and I've got a million quips no matter who you is. And I'm sure I'm not alone.
However, if I were being starred at and tripped up, asking, "What are you looking at?" I'm sure a great response would be, "I dunno- A near-sighted King Lear? Someone wearing a bad wig? Just another unemployed dipshit hipster wannbe?"
I just made myself cry.
